Why parallel review beats sequential review

Traditional schematic review is sequential by necessity: a structural engineer reviews the drawing set, hands it to electrical, who hands it to HVAC, and so on. Each pass takes days, and issues found late in the chain often mean earlier disciplines have to re-review their own work against the new findings.

That sequencing is a process artifact, not a technical requirement. Nothing about reviewing electrical conflicts requires waiting for the structural review to finish first.
